Main Street Gallery is proud to debut renowned Painter and Sculptor ARI SMEJKAL. Ari has been a prolific artisan, designing for over 30 years and currently resides in Chicago. He is known around the world for his exquisite furniture and uniquely skilled craftsmanship. His talents are a regular fixture on HGTV’s Windy City Rehab, the show has become a venue for sharing his works of art. Given the show’s success and features in local and national publications, Smejkal now has his art in public and private collections across the globe.
Inspired by endless experimentation with technique and materials, each work is ever-evolving with a modest, Japanese influence. Ari’s work ranges from large-scale, multi-media to moderately sized works on canvas. The influence of contemporaries, like artists Rene Romero Schuler, and Kazuo Shiraga, can also be felt in his work. This proud father of six creates out of his family farm in Germantown, Wisconsin.
Art consultants, interior designers and private collectors continue to increase demand for Smejkal’s work, along with his presence on HGTV’s Windy City Rehab, which is now filming its third season. Several of Smejkal’s large-format paintings are also featured on HGTV’s Rock the Block.
